Taxis are available 24/7 directly outside the arrivals area of Hall A. Official, metered taxis are operated by Taxis Bordeaux Aéroport. The journey to Bordeaux city center typically takes 20-30 minutes and costs approximately €30-€40 during the day, with higher fares at night and on Sundays.
Major car rental companies (including Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt) have desks in the dedicated rental car building, which connects Hall A and Hall B. It is advisable to book your vehicle in advance. Cars are picked up from and returned to the nearby P2 car park.
Bordeaux Airport is well-connected to the city's TBM public transport network. Key options include:
- Tram A: Provides a direct and frequent link to the Bordeaux city center. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes.
- 30'Direct Shuttle: A dedicated express bus service running between the airport and the main Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station in about 30 minutes.
- Lianes 1+ Bus: A regular city bus line offering a more economical, though slower, route to the city center and other destinations.
Tickets can be purchased at vending machines located at the tram and bus stops.
Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is, according to me, a good airport : it is clean, not too big so it is easy to see where you have to go, unlike Paris Charles de Gaulle ! This airport offers some interesting destinations in France, Europe and the whole world ! :)
