Taxis are available outside the baggage claim area. Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are also authorized to operate at the airport, with designated passenger pickup zones located outside the terminal.
Several car rental agencies have counters inside the airport terminal, located in the baggage claim area. Options include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz. It is highly recommended to make reservations in advance.
There is no direct, fixed-route public bus service to the Easterwood Field airport terminal. The Texas A&M University bus system operates on the main campus nearby, but does not have a stop at the airport.
If you're gonna get a "hundred dollar burger", hard to beat Gate 12 Bar and Grill, which has unobstructed window seating for planespotters. Last time I was here (before COVID), the waitstaff showed me their photos of an L-39 that popped through here -- USAF and USN military trainers (T-6, T-38, T-44, T-45) are a very common sight here and much easier to see and photograph than in Austin.
This is a great airport for training. The folks in the tower are very great. They're very accustomed to students, and will be very helpful (and patient). Well, at least they were every time I (or all my friends) flew there.
