United Airlines will restart nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) on September 8, 2026, operating twice daily on Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. The carrier confirmed the restart during the week ending August 28, according to Business Travel News.

United had suspended Israel flights following the outbreak of the Iran conflict, when Israeli airspace was largely restricted to commercial operations. Ben Gurion Airport has since returned to full international operations. Capacity on the EWR-TLV route is set to grow: by November, United plans up to 18 weekly round-trip flights on a mix of 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft, according to Simple Flying.

The Newark restart is the first of United's Israel routes to resume. Chicago O'Hare-Tel Aviv service is scheduled to restart October 24 with four weekly 787-9 flights, and San Francisco-Tel Aviv will resume March 28, 2027, operating three times weekly according to Business Travel News.

Newark is United's primary transatlantic hub. Delta Air Lines is separately resuming its New York JFK-Tel Aviv service on September 6, giving New York-area travelers two major carrier options within days of each other.
