Its primary operation was handling medical flights, likely for the transfer of patients to other facilities for specialized medical treatment not available at the psychiatric hospital, or for the secure transport of patients to the hospital. The name 'PSF Heliport' and the ICAO code 'US-10444' are non-standard identifiers, likely originating from a third-party aviation database, as the facility was an integrated part of the hospital's infrastructure.

There are no known plans or public discussions regarding the reopening of this heliport. Given its extended period of disuse, the significant cost that would be required for resurfacing, repainting, and recertification, and the availability of a nearby municipal airport, any prospect for its reopening is considered extremely unlikely.
