The site is currently private land. Recent satellite imagery shows that the land has reverted to agricultural use, likely as a pasture or hay field. The faint outline of the former grass runway is still visible from the air, but it is no longer maintained and is overgrown. The associated residential home and outbuildings to the east of the former runway appear to still be in use, but there are no signs of any ongoing aviation activity.

Its significance was primarily local, serving as a personal-use airstrip for its owner and possibly other local pilots. It was first noted in aviation directories in the early 1990s. The facility consisted of a single north/south turf runway, approximately 2,600 feet in length. Operations were limited to light, single-engine aircraft. It held no major commercial, military, or historical importance beyond serving the private aviation needs of its owner.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Hayesport Airport. The airfield has been officially closed and unmaintained for well over a decade, and the land is privately owned. A return to aviation use is considered extremely unlikely.
