Taxis
Venice offers two types of taxi services from the airport. Land taxis (cars) are available outside the arrivals hall and will take you to Piazzale Roma, the main gateway to Venice. From there, you must continue on foot or by water bus. Private water taxis (motoscafi) depart from the airport's dock, a 10-minute walk from the terminal via a covered walkway. They provide direct, scenic, but more expensive transport to hotels and locations along the canals.
Rental Cars
Major car rental companies (like Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt) have desks in the arrivals hall, with vehicles located in the P1 multilevel parking garage, accessible by a short shuttle ride or walk. Renting a car is only practical if your final destination is on the mainland (e.g., Mestre) or elsewhere in Italy, as cars are prohibited in the historic center of Venice.
Public Transportation
