Taxis are available directly outside the terminal building, with services timed to meet arriving flights. A trip to Ostend city center takes approximately 10-15 minutes, while the journey to Bruges is about 30-40 minutes. Fares can be confirmed with the driver before departure.
Car rental desks for major international companies such as Avis and Hertz are located within the arrivals hall. Pre-booking your vehicle online is highly recommended to ensure availability and secure the best rates, especially during peak tourist seasons.
Bus line 6, operated by De Lijn, connects the airport directly to the main Ostend railway station. The bus stop is located just outside the terminal. From the Ostend station, you can take frequent direct trains to Bruges (a 15-minute ride), Ghent, Brussels, and other major Belgian cities.
This airport is the first one where I had to stay the night over (gladly enough in a hotel down-town). Together with a pilot-friend we had a superb night with oisters and mussels, despite our disappointment of staying over.
The airport itself is not so special, but the city of Oostende is worth another visit.
