Beijing Capital Airlines resumed weekly service between Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on October 2, 2026, with a stop in Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO). Flight JD471 departs Hangzhou at 08:55, stops at Qingdao, then continues to Vancouver, arriving at 08:40 local time on the same calendar day due to the time-zone crossing. The return service, JD472, departs Vancouver at 10:40. The route currently runs once weekly on Fridays.
According to Airways Magazine, the initial schedule uses an Airbus A330-300, switching to an A330-200 from October 16 before returning to A330-300 operation later in the season. Beijing Capital Airlines is the only scheduled carrier on the Qingdao-Vancouver sector.
The Hangzhou-Qingdao-Vancouver service originally launched in 2016, making October 2 a restoration. Its return is part of a broader wave of China-Canada capacity growth in Fall 2026 that also includes additional Air China, China Southern, and Xiamen Airlines frequencies at YVR.
Aviation Week's Routes and Networks update for the week of October 5 confirmed the service. Vancouver International Airport's official social channels also welcomed Capital Airlines back to YVR on October 2, noting the weekly connection to two Chinese cities.
