Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals hall. Fares are not typically metered, so it is essential to negotiate and agree on a price with the driver before starting your trip. A one-way trip to the Jiuzhaigou Valley entrance (approx. 1.5-2 hours) costs around ¥200-300, while a trip to Huanglong National Park (approx. 1 hour) is about ¥180-250. Sharing a taxi with other travelers is a common way to reduce the cost.
Self-drive car rental options are very limited for foreign visitors as a Chinese driver's license is required. The more practical and common option is to hire a private car with a driver. This service can be arranged at the airport transportation counter, or booked in advance through your hotel or a local travel agency. This provides flexibility for visiting both Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong parks.
Airport shuttle buses are the primary public transit option. Buses are scheduled to coincide with flight arrivals and have two main routes: one directly to Jiuzhaigou Valley and another to Huanglong National Park. The bus to Jiuzhaigou costs approx. ¥45 (2 hours). The bus to Huanglong costs approx. ¥22 (1 hour). Many travelers take the bus to Huanglong, tour the park, and then take a later bus from Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou.
