Taxi ranks are conveniently located on the ground floor outside Terminals 1, 2, and 3. All taxis are metered, and an airport access fee applies to all pickups. Rideshare services like Uber, DiDi, and Ola are also available, with dedicated pickup zones located outside the terminals.
Major car rental companies including Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar, and Sixt have desks on the ground floor of the At Terminal T1, T2 & T3 car park. It is highly recommended to book your vehicle in advance for better availability and pricing.
The main public transport option is the SkyBus express service, which operates 24/7 between the airport and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne's city center. Additionally, several public bus routes (Routes 478, 479, 482, and 901) connect the airport to surrounding suburbs and train stations like Broadmeadows and Sunbury.
Autogates are not enough for the airport.They also do a physical check of your passport.
If you're hoping for a quick trip through Customs/Immigration think on!! Unless things have changed greatly in the last couple of years be prepared for a couple of hours wait!! ...... and declare EVERYTHING!!
The runways are very easy to land on and there isn't has much traffic.
