Official metered taxis are available 24/7 on the 1st floor (Level 1) at Gates 4 and 7. Passengers take a ticket from a queue machine to be assigned a taxi. The fare is based on the meter, plus a 50 THB airport surcharge and any applicable expressway tolls.
Major international and local car rental companies (like Avis, Hertz, Sixt, and Thai Rent A Car) have counters on the 2nd floor (Level 2) of the Arrivals Hall near Gate 8. It is recommended to book in advance. An International Driving Permit is often required along with your national license.
The Airport Rail Link (ARL) is the fastest way to the city center, located on the Basement (B) Floor. It connects to the BTS Skytrain at Phaya Thai station and the MRT subway at Makkasan station. Public buses and vans to various parts of Bangkok and other cities like Pattaya and Hua Hin operate from the Public Transport Center, accessible via a free airport shuttle bus.
