Prepaid and post-paid taxi services are the most common and convenient option. A taxi counter is located inside the arrival hall where you can book a cab at fixed, government-approved rates to destinations like Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj, and Palampur. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal exit.
There are no major international car rental desks within the airport terminal. Car rentals, almost always with a driver, must be pre-booked through local travel agencies in Kangra or Dharamshala. It is highly recommended to arrange this service in advance of your arrival.
Direct public bus service is not available from the terminal building. The nearest bus stop is on the main highway (Gaggal Chowk), about a 500-meter walk from the airport. From there, you can catch state-run (HRTC) and private buses to Kangra, Dharamshala, and other nearby towns. This is the most economical but least convenient option, especially with luggage.
KANGRA is a really cool place to visit. There are long ranges of dholadar mountains and you should also visit KANGRA
