Raxaul Airport, IN.

Raxaul Airport (VERL) is a public airport located in Raxaul, Bihar, India, owned by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Situated near the India-Nepal border, it was originally established after the Sino-Indian War in 1962 as an emergency landing ground for the Indian Army.

Currently, the airport is non-operational for scheduled commercial services, but significant efforts are underway for its expansion and revival under India's Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN). The existing runway measures 1372 meters (3,600 ft) by 30.5 meters, with plans to extend it to 2,360 meters to accommodate larger commercial aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, as well as Indian Air Force jets. The state government has allocated funds for land acquisition to facilitate this expansion.
