R V Ranch Airport

Cessation of private operations. As a small, privately owned turf strip, the most probable reason for closure was that the owner no longer wished to maintain or operate it. There is no evidence of a specific incident, accident, or economic event leading to the closure; rather, it appears to have been a simple discontinuation of use.

The airport site has been fully reclaimed for agricultural use. The former turf runway is completely overgrown and is now indistinguishable from the surrounding pasture land. A hangar located at the south end of the former runway appears to still be standing, likely repurposed for agricultural storage or other private use.

R V Ranch Airport was a small, private airfield with limited historical significance beyond serving its owner. It featured a single turf runway, approximately 2,600 feet long, oriented NNE/SSW. Operations would have been restricted to light general aviation aircraft, such as single-engine piston planes, used for the personal and recreational purposes of the owner, R V Associates, and any permitted guests. It was never a public-use or commercial airport and did not handle scheduled flights or significant air traffic.

There are no known plans or prospects for reopening the R V Ranch Airport. Given that it was a private field and the land has been reverted to pasture for over a decade, a reopening is considered extremely unlikely. It would require a significant private investment and initiative from the current landowner to re-establish the airfield.
