Tingsryd Airport

Economic and operational reasons. The airfield was a private grass strip operated by the local flying club, Tingsryds Flygklubb. The closure is linked to the cessation of the club's activities, making the airfield's operation no longer viable. The private land was subsequently repurposed.

The site of the former airport is now private land. The grass runway is no longer maintained and has been returned to agricultural and forestry use. Satellite imagery of the coordinates shows overgrown fields where the runway once was, with no visible traces of aviation infrastructure remaining. The land is completely repurposed and is not recognizable as a former airfield from the ground.

Tingsryd Airport, also known locally as Tingsryd/Hultet Airfield, was a private general aviation airfield established in the 1960s. Its primary significance was serving as the home base for the Tingsryds Flygklubb (Tingsryd Flying Club). Operations were typical for a small flying club, consisting mainly of recreational flying, flight training for club members, and other private general aviation activities. It featured a single grass runway (oriented 02/20) approximately 650 meters long and was an important local hub for aviation enthusiasts in the Tingsryd municipality.

There are no known plans, discussions, or prospects for reopening the Tingsryd Airport. The original flying club that operated it is defunct, and the land is under private ownership for non-aviation purposes. The likelihood of re-establishing an airfield at this location is virtually zero.
