🇸🇪 Feringe Airfield

Feringe Airfield (ESMG) is a general aviation and sport aviation airfield located 13 km northeast of Ljungby, Sweden, near the community of Vittaryd and European Route 4. It does not have scheduled commercial passenger or cargo traffic.

• Ownership and Operation: The airfield is owned and operated by Feringe Flygklubb (Feringe Flying Club) since 2004, having previously been owned by Ljungby Municipality.
• Runway Information: It features a main asphalt runway (01/19) measuring 1,150 meters long and 30 meters wide, and a parallel grass strip. The grass strip can be soft after rain.
• Elevation: The airfield is 164 meters (538 feet) above sea level.
• Activities: Feringe Airfield is primarily used for sport aviation, including:
• Motor flying
• Gliding (sailplanes)
• Parachuting
• UL-flying (ultralight aircraft)
• Taxi flights and business aviation also occur.
• Feringe Flygklubb, Feringe Segelflygklubb (gliding club), and Smålands Fallskärmsklubb (parachuting club) are based at the airfield.
• Fuel: 100LL and Jet-A1 fuel are available for cash payment.
• Historical Significance: The site was used as a reserve landing strip for commercial air traffic between Stockholm/Bromma and Malmö/Bulltofta in the 1930s. The airfield was developed further in 1968 when the runway was asphalted and extended to its current length.
• Amenities: The airfield offers overnight accommodation in its club building. Runway lighting can be activated by radio.
