Official airport taxis (COOTAERO) are available at the arrivals curb of Terminal 1. These are white, metered vehicles, and you can also pre-pay for your ride at their counter inside the terminal. Ride-hailing services like Uber and 99 are also widely available with designated pickup areas.
Several car rental agencies have service desks on the ground floor (arrivals level) of Terminal 1. Major companies operating at the airport include Localiza, Movida, and Unidas, among others.
The airport is connected to the city's Trensurb (surface metro) system via the free AeromĂłvel people mover. The AeromĂłvel departs from Terminal 1 and takes you directly to the 'Aeroporto' Trensurb station in about two minutes. From there, the train provides a fast connection to downtown Porto Alegre and neighboring cities. City bus lines also serve the airport.
