Help fellow travelers by sharing your experience at Gimpo International Airport. Tips are reviewed before publishing.
Gimpo International Airport (GMP) generally receives mixed reviews from recent travelers. While lauded for its exceptional connectivity and convenience to Seoul, many international travelers express significant frustration with long wait times at security and immigration, particularly during peak hours. Domestic travelers, however, often report a more efficient and pleasant experience. Overall sentiment leans positive regarding cleanliness and transport, but heavily negative concerning efficiency of passenger processing.
Gimpo International Airport remains a convenient gateway for those traveling within Korea or on short-haul international flights within Asia, primarily due to its strategic location. However, be prepared for potentially long and frustrating queues at security and immigration, which significantly impact the overall traveler experience, particularly for international departures.

Taxi stands are conveniently located outside the arrival halls of both the International and Domestic terminals. You can find several types of taxis, including standard (regular), deluxe (mobeom), and jumbo vans for larger groups or luggage. Fares are metered, and a late-night surcharge (typically 20-40%) applies between 10 PM and 4 AM. Payment is accepted via cash, credit card, or the local T-money transportation card.
Major car rental companies, including Lotte Rent-a-Car and SK Rent-a-Car, have service desks on the first floor of the Domestic Terminal. To rent a car, you will generally need a valid International Driving Permit (IDP), your passport, a driver's license from your home country valid for at least one year, and a credit card for the deposit. Booking in advance, especially during peak seasons, is highly recommended.
Gimpo Airport is exceptionally well-connected to the public transit network.

- Buses: A wide variety of buses depart from stops outside the terminals. These include local city buses, comfortable airport limousine buses serving major hotels and districts in Seoul, and inter-city buses connecting to numerous cities throughout South Korea.
