Chevak Airport (PAVA/VAK) is a state-owned, public-use airport that serves as the essential aviation link for the city of Chevak, Alaska. Located in the Kusilvak Census Area, a region without road connections to the rest of the state, the airport is a critical lifeline for residents. It facilitates the movement of passengers, mail, cargo, and medical services, making it indispensable to the community's daily life and connectivity. The current airport facility was officially activated in November 2006. It was constructed to replace an older, shorter airstrip located within the village that was susceptible to flooding from the nearby Ninglikfak River. Chevak Airport is situated approximately one nautical mile west of the city's central business district. A gravel road connects the airport to the town. Travelers typically reach the facility using local transportation methods, which include all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), snowmachines during the winter months, or pre-arranged rides with local residents or taxi services. Given the short distance, walking between the village and the airport is also a possibility for those with minimal luggage.

Operations at Chevak Airport are exclusively domestic, consisting of regional commuter and air taxi flights. There are no scheduled international services. Airlines such as Grant Aviation provide scheduled passenger service, primarily connecting Chevak with the regional hub of Bethel (BET), from where further connections to Anchorage and other destinations are available. The airport handles several thousand passenger boardings annually, serving as a busy transit point for the local population.

Facilities at the airport are basic and functional, designed to meet the essential needs of travelers in a remote setting. The airport features a single gravel runway and a small terminal building. Inside the terminal, passengers will find a waiting area and restroom facilities. There are no restaurants, retail shops, or passenger lounges on-site. The infrastructure is designed purely for processing departures and arrivals efficiently.

For those traveling through Chevak Airport, it is advisable to arrive at least 60 minutes before their scheduled departure time. All ground transportation should be arranged in advance, as there are no rental car agencies or readily available taxi ranks. Travelers with connecting flights, especially through Bethel, should allow ample buffer time in their itineraries, as weather in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta can frequently cause flight delays. Passengers should also pack their own snacks and beverages and be mindful of strict baggage weight and size limits enforced by regional airlines operating smaller aircraft.
