Recent traveler reviews for Dubai International Airport (DXB) reveal a dichotomy of experiences. While official reports consistently highlight DXB's status as the world's busiest international airport with robust operational efficiency, many passengers report significant challenges, particularly concerning overcrowding and staff interactions. Overall sentiment is mixed, with some praising its world-class facilities and connectivity, while others criticize its chaotic environment and long wait times.
In summary, Dubai International Airport is undeniably a major global hub, celebrated for its modern infrastructure and vast connectivity. However, the rapidly increasing passenger traffic appears to strain its operational capacity, leading to significant frustrations for many travelers regarding overcrowding, prolonged wait times at security and immigration, and perceived shortcomings in staff service and basic amenities.

Official Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) taxis are available 24/7 at designated ranks outside all terminals. These are metered, cream-colored vehicles (some with pink roofs for families/ladies) that accept cash and credit cards. Ride-hailing services like Uber and Careem also operate from the airport with designated pickup areas.
Major international and local car rental companies, including Hertz, Avis, Sixt, and Europcar, have desks in the arrivals area of each terminal. Pre-booking is recommended. Renters will need a valid passport, credit card, and a valid driver's license, often accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).
The Dubai Metro's Red Line directly serves Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, providing a fast and efficient link to the city. Terminal 2 is connected via a short taxi ride or shuttle bus. A network of RTA public buses also operates from all terminals, offering routes across Dubai. A Nol card (a rechargeable travel card) is required for both the Metro and buses.
