Rotuma Airport (IATA: RTA, ICAO: NFNR) serves as the sole aerial gateway to Rotuma, a remote Fijian dependency located approximately 640 kilometers northwest of Nadi. As the island's primary link to Fiji's main island, Viti Levu, the airport is a critical piece of infrastructure, facilitating the movement of residents, essential supplies, medical evacuations, and a small number of visitors. Its role is fundamental to mitigating the island's geographic isolation.

Opened in 1981, the airport marked a significant milestone in Rotuma's history, dramatically reducing travel time from a multi-day sea voyage to a flight of a few hours. A major upgrade occurred around 2018 when its coral runway was paved with asphalt. Fiji Link, the domestic subsidiary of Fiji Airways, is the sole commercial operator, providing scheduled services to and from Nadi International Airport (NAN). Flights are not daily, typically operating a few times per week on turboprop aircraft like the ATR 72. Passenger volume is modest, primarily consisting of local residents and their families. All flights are subject to weather conditions, which can occasionally cause delays or cancellations.

The facilities at Rotuma Airport are basic and reflect its small scale. The single terminal building houses a check-in counter, a small waiting area, and restroom facilities.
