Taxis are readily available 24/7 outside the arrivals hall of all terminals. Fares are regulated by the government and are based on a zone system to major destinations like Downtown Nassau, Cable Beach, and Paradise Island. It is advisable to confirm the fare with the driver before your journey begins.
A dedicated Rental Car Center is located a short walk from the U.S. Departures Terminal. Major international companies like Avis, Budget, Dollar, and Hertz operate here. Pre-booking is highly recommended, especially during peak travel seasons. Note that driving in The Bahamas is on the left side of the road.
The local public bus system, known as 'Jitneys', does not have a dedicated stop directly at the airport terminals. While it is a very affordable option, it is generally not convenient for travelers with luggage as it requires walking to a main road. Jitneys operate mostly during daylight hours and require cash payment (exact change is preferred).
As of 17June19 Rwy 09-27 will be permanently closed per NOTAM.
There is no VAT in the Bahamas-----Yet!
Please can someone explain why the arrivals info NEVER shows when the BA flight is due? As far as your info is concerned it doesn't exist but it arrive here 5 times a week so why doesn't it show up????
I used Odyssey FBO it was expensive but most of the fees are government fees.
The most expensive place I have ever landed at. Landing fees, Customs fees (although we cleared Bahamian Customs earlier in Eluthera), FBO parking fees, very expensive avgas, fuel delivery charges, service fees for the FBO, VAT on everything.
