Taxis are readily available 24/7 outside the arrivals terminal. They offer a direct and convenient way to get to any destination in North Cyprus, such as Lefkoşa (Nicosia), Girne (Kyrenia), or Gazimağusa (Famagusta). Fares to major towns are often fixed, but it is always advisable to confirm the price with the driver before starting your trip.
Several car rental companies have service desks located within the arrivals hall. The selection consists mainly of local North Cyprus firms. Pre-booking online is highly recommended, especially during peak season, to ensure availability and secure better rates. A valid driving license is required, and note that driving is on the left-hand side of the road.
The primary public transit option is the KIBHAS airport shuttle bus service. These buses provide an economical connection to the main bus terminals in all major towns, including Lefkoşa (Nicosia), Girne (Kyrenia), Gazimağusa (Famagusta), Güzelyurt (Morphou), and Lefke. The bus stop is located just outside the terminal building, and schedules are generally aligned with flight arrivals and departures.
Really user friendly airport with fast throughput. Nice duty free now and good shops. A new airpotrt and runway are now being constructed on the far side of the runway. Always a joy to use this airport which was one an RAF wartime airbase. RAF Tymvou.
