Laboratoires Boehringer Heliport

Economic reasons. The heliport was a private facility for the exclusive use of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. In June 2010, the company announced the closure of its entire Reims production and research site to consolidate operations and streamline its industrial network. The closure of the plant made the associated heliport redundant.

The site has been completely redeveloped. The original Boehringer Ingelheim laboratory and the heliport were demolished. The land is now part of the 'Parc d'Activités Croix Blandin', a modern commercial and business park. The exact location of the former helipad is now green space and parking lots adjacent to new commercial buildings, including a B&B Hotel. There are no remaining traces of the heliport.

The heliport, designated FR-0073, was a private corporate facility. Its sole purpose was to serve the adjacent 'Laboratoires Boehringer Ingelheim' site in Reims. Operations primarily consisted of executive and VIP transport, allowing for rapid travel between the Reims facility and other corporate locations or major airports. It symbolized the logistical capabilities and importance of this major pharmaceutical production plant in the region. It was not open to the public and handled no commercial or military traffic.
