Official airport taxis are available 24/7 from the taxi stand located just outside the arrivals hall (Tour Operators Hall). Fares are regulated, but it is advisable to agree on the final price with the driver before starting your journey. Ride-sharing services may also be available.
Numerous international and local car rental agencies have counters within the arrivals hall, including Hertz, Avis, Europcar, and Sixt. Pre-booking online is highly recommended, especially during peak season, to ensure availability and better rates. Remember that driving is on the left-hand side of the road in Mauritius.
Public bus services provide the most budget-friendly option. The bus stop is located in the main airport car park, a short walk from the terminal. Several routes connect the airport to major destinations, including the capital, Port Louis (Route 10 & 198), and the nearby town of Mahébourg (Route 09). This option is less convenient for those with a lot of luggage and can be significantly slower than a taxi.

It is found in Plaissance and not in Port Louis nor Grand Port
The airport has been closed because of the tropical Cyclone Berguitta and will remain closed until further notice. All flights to and from the airport have been cancelled or delayed
sadly the one thing that bugs me is, the amount of time you have to wait at custom control , been visiting Mauritius for more than 30 years and it has never improved and that includes this year too .
