Ground Transportation
Taxis
Taxis are available at the airport. You can find official airport taxis as well as ride-hailing services popular in Luanda, such as T'Leva or Kubinga. The airport is located approximately 40 km from the city center, so the journey can be long and relatively expensive. It is highly recommended to agree on the fare with the driver before starting your trip.
Rental Cars
Several international and local car rental companies are expected to operate from the arrivals hall. Major brands like Avis, Hertz, and Sixt have a presence in Luanda and will likely serve the new airport. It is strongly advised to book your vehicle in advance, especially during peak travel times. An International Driving Permit may be required in addition to your national driver's license.
Public Transportation
Public transit options are currently under development. A new railway line connecting the airport to the center of Luanda is under construction but is not yet operational. Dedicated airport shuttle buses and public bus routes are also planned to serve the airport as passenger traffic increases, but detailed schedules are not yet widely available. Travelers should check for the most current information upon arrival or inquire with their hotel about private shuttle services.
