Approximately between 2006 and 2008. The airport was depicted on the May 2006 Toronto VFR Navigation Chart (VNC) but was removed from subsequent editions and is listed as closed in aviation databases by 2008.
The airport was a privately owned and operated aerodrome. While the exact reason is not publicly documented, closures of such small airfields are typically due to private circumstances, such as the owner's retirement or death, the sale of the property, or prohibitive costs of insurance and maintenance. There is no evidence of closure due to a major accident or military conversion. The subsequent conversion of the land to full agricultural use suggests a deliberate change in land use by the owner.
The site is now private property and has been fully converted back into agricultural farmland. Satellite imagery confirms that the former east-west runway area has been plowed and is now indistinguishable from the surrounding cultivated fields. The farm buildings located north of the former runway strip remain, but all infrastructure and markings related to the airport have been removed.
Mulock Airport (CPM2) was a small, private aerodrome serving the general aviation community in the Bruce County area of Ontario. It featured a single turf runway (09/27) with a length of approximately 2,600 feet. Its operations were limited to light, single-engine aircraft for recreational flying. As a private 'Prior Permission Required' (PPR) field, it was not open for public use without the owner's consent. Its significance was purely local, providing a base for the owner and potentially a few other local pilots, contributing to the fabric of rural general aviation in the region.
There are no known plans or prospects for reopening Mulock Airport. The land has been fully reclaimed for agricultural purposes for over a decade, making a return to aviation activities extremely unlikely. It would require the private landowner to completely rebuild the airfield and re-register it with Transport Canada, for which there is no indication of intent.
