'S Gravenvoeren Heliport

The heliport was a private facility associated with a large residential estate. The closure was not due to a specific incident, military conversion, or large-scale economic failure. The most probable reason is the cessation of private use by the property owner, which could be due to the sale of the property, the owner no longer operating a helicopter, or the non-renewal of the necessary permits with the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA).

The site is currently a private residential property. The physical infrastructure of the heliport, including a distinct circular concrete helipad and a building that likely served as a hangar, remains intact on the grounds of the estate. However, the painted 'H' marking on the pad is significantly faded and weathered, indicating it is no longer maintained for active aviation use. The area is now simply part of the landscaped garden of the private residence.

The heliport held no major national or historical significance. Its role was strictly that of a private heliport ('privé-helihaven') for personal and business transport. It was built to serve the residents of the adjacent villa, providing convenient point-to-point air travel. Operations would have consisted exclusively of light, single-engine or twin-engine private helicopters. The ICAO location indicator BE-0066 was assigned by the BCAA to officially register it as an aerodrome, a common practice for private airfields and heliports in Belgium.

There are no known public plans or prospects for reopening the heliport. As a private facility, any potential reactivation would be entirely dependent on the current or a future property owner's desire to operate a helicopter and their ability to successfully apply for and receive a new operating permit from the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority. Currently, it is considered permanently closed.
