RwandAir

RwandAir (ICAO: RWD) is the national flag carrier of Rwanda, established on December 1, 2002, and commencing operations on April 27, 2003, initially as Rwandair Express. The airline was formed after the Rwandan government's efforts to revive the national carrier following the 1994 genocide, taking over operations from SA Alliance Air in 2000 and rebranding. Its main operational hub is Kigali International Airport (KGL), located in the heart of Africa, with additional operating bases at Cadjehoun Airport and Accra International Airport.

RwandAir operates a modern and growing fleet. As of December 2024, its fleet includes Airbus A330-200s, Airbus A330-300s, Boeing 737-700s, Boeing 737-800s, Bombardier CRJ900ERs, and Bombardier Dash 8s, along with a Boeing 737-800BCF for cargo operations. The airline is known for operating one of the youngest fleets on the African continent.

The airline's route network is extensive, serving 25 destinations across various regions, including East, Central, West, and Southern Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Key international destinations include Brussels, London, Paris, Dubai, Doha, and Mumbai. Within Africa, it connects major cities in countries like South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ghana.
