Swiss International Air Lines will launch nonstop service between Zurich Airport (ZRH) and Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR) from October 25, 2026, as part of its 2026/27 winter timetable expansion running through March 27, 2027. The announcement was made May 19, 2026, with tickets immediately available via swiss.com and travel agency partners. The service operates five times weekly using an Airbus A350, in a three-class configuration with First, Business, and Economy cabins.
Bengaluru becomes SWISS's third Indian destination after Delhi and Mumbai, and the airline's first point in southern India. CEO Jens Fehlinger said the route is "particularly aimed at meeting the growing demand among the business community for direct flights to this major technology hub." Girish Nair, COO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), called the link a connection between "India's Silicon Valley" and a "premier global financial capital."
The new route forms part of a broader Lufthansa Group India expansion: the group plans over 70 weekly flights to India during the 2026/27 winter season across member carriers. Bengaluru already receives Frankfurt and Munich flights from Lufthansa, making SWISS the third Lufthansa Group carrier to serve the city. Passengers benefit from onward connections across Europe and North America via Zurich.
The SWISS A350 deployment signals confidence in Bengaluru's premium and corporate travel demand, which has grown in tandem with the city's technology sector.
