Eurowings has launched a new twice-weekly service between Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Olbia Airport (OLB) on the northeastern coast of Sardinia, Italy. Flights operate on Tuesdays and Sundays, with a flight time of approximately two hours and 20 minutes. The route debuted in May 2026 as part of the carrier's expanded summer schedule at BER.
Olbia is the primary gateway to the Costa Smeralda — one of the Mediterranean's most celebrated luxury coastlines — as well as to the quieter interior regions of northern Sardinia. The route targets leisure travelers from Berlin and Brandenburg seeking beach holidays and coastal exploration, and Eurowings has pitched it alongside city-break routes to position Berlin Brandenburg as a versatile departure hub.
The Olbia launch is one of six new destinations added from BER in summer 2026, alongside Sarajevo, London, Lisbon, Naples, and Kavala. Together with expanded frequencies to Mallorca, Split, Gothenburg, Helsinki, and Zurich, Eurowings has grown its Berlin base to nine aircraft — its largest operation at the airport. The carrier now offers 43 direct destinations from BER across 20 countries, according to its official newsroom.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport's official press release, published 8 May 2026, confirmed both the Olbia and Sarajevo launches simultaneously. Aviation Week's Routes & Networks included the route in its W/C 11 May rolling updates, and TravelWires reported the service on 11 May 2026.
