🇮🇩 Silampari Airport

Silampari Airport (WIPB (LLJ)) is a public domestic airport located in Lubuk Linggau, South Sumatra, Indonesia. It is not a private airstrip, but rather a regional gateway serving the city of Lubuklinggau and the Musi Rawas Regency.

• Location: The airport is situated approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) from the Lubuklinggau city center, in Air Kuti, Lubuklinggau Timur. Its strategic location places it at the junction of three provinces: South Sumatra, Bengkulu, and Jambi.
• Runway Information: The airport features an asphalt runway measuring 2,220 meters by 45 meters (7,283 ft x 148 ft), capable of accommodating narrow-body aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. There are plans to extend the runway further to 2,500 meters.
• Known Uses: Silampari Airport primarily serves scheduled domestic passenger flights and cargo transportation. Currently, it offers direct daily flights to Jakarta (CGK) via Batik Air. The airport has a single passenger terminal, which was opened in 2019 following a major reconstruction.
• Historical Significance: Originally established as a regional rural airport, Silampari Airport began operations on May 7, 1994, and received official civil airport status in 1995. It underwent a significant modernization program in the 2010s, including the lengthening and strengthening of its runway and the construction of a new terminal, enabling it to accommodate medium-haul jet aircraft for the first time. The airport is named after a character from a local legend, adding cultural and historical significance.
