🇮🇳 Tezu Airport

Tezu Airport (VETJ/TEI) is a domestic public airport serving Tezu and the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

• Location: Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
• Runway: It has one concrete runway, designated 04/22, measuring 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in length and 30 meters (98 feet) in width.
• Facilities: The airport features a passenger terminal building capable of handling 300 passengers during peak hours, an apron for two ATR-72 aircraft, an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, and ancillary facilities. It also incorporates sustainable features like a double-insulated roofing system, energy-efficient lighting, a solid waste management system, a water treatment plant, and rainwater harvesting.
• Operations: Tezu Airport is India's easternmost airport and was upgraded to handle ATR-72 aircraft. It currently provides VFR (Visual Flight Rules) operations only during daytime and does not have night-landing facilities.
• Commercial Service: Scheduled commercial flights commenced on August 19, 2021. It is connected to Imphal, Dibrugarh, and Guwahati.
• Historical Significance: The upgraded airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 9, 2019. A new terminal building was also inaugurated by the Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, on September 24, 2023. Tezu is also an Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) for the Indian Military.
