🇧🇾 Vitebsk Vostochny Airport

Vitebsk Vostochny Airport (UMII/VTB) is a public international airport located approximately 12-15 kilometers southeast of Vitebsk, Belarus. It is a midsized, compact regional air hub that handles both domestic and international passenger and cargo flights. The airport holds an ICAO Certificate and Cat IVB, allowing it to operate in various meteorological conditions.

The airport, also known as "Vostochny" (meaning Eastern), officially opened in 1978. It gained international status in 1996, leading to significant modernization of its infrastructure, including runway reconstruction and terminal improvements. A notable feature of the airport is its seasonal activity, which intensifies during the annual "Slavianski Bazaar" international arts festival, accommodating numerous charter flights. Its runway, which is 2,606 meters (8,550 feet) long and 42 meters (138 feet) wide with an asphalt/concrete surface, can accommodate various aircraft types, including the Il-76, Tu-154, Boeing-737-800, Boeing-757-200, Airbus-310-200, and all types of helicopters. The airport has a single passenger terminal.
