Kake Airport (IATA: AFE, ICAO: PAFE, FAA LID: AFE) is a publicly owned, public-use airport located one nautical mile southeast of Kake, Alaska. It is owned by the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Southcoast Region.

Type of facility and operations: The airport is classified as a general aviation airport and is operational. It does not have a control tower and is unattended. Communications are provided by Sitka FSS. The airport has one asphalt runway, 11/29, which is 4,000 feet long and 100 feet wide, and is in good condition. Runway 11 has a displaced threshold of 1000 feet. Aircraft operations for the 12-month period ending December 31, 2006, were 4,600.

Notable features or history: The airport was activated in November 1986. Major improvements include the reconstruction of Runway 11/29 and taxiway lighting, and rehabilitation of Runway 11/29. There is an unlit 191-foot tower located approximately 6300 feet north of Runway 11. Pilots should be aware of high terrain to the north, east, and south of the airport, and the presence of birds, bears, and deer on and around the runway. The airport is closed to aircraft over 12,500 lbs gross weight without prior permission from Airport Safety and Security.

Current status: Kake Airport is currently operational, but has an active construction notice. It is open to the public. The airport condition is not monitored, and maintenance is on an irregular basis, so visual inspection is recommended before use. Fuel is not available at the airport.
