🇮🇷 Shahrekord Airport

Shahrekord Airport (OIFS (CQD)) is a regional airport located in Shahrekord, Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province, Iran. It serves as a public facility, owned by the Government of Iran and operated by the Iran Airports Company. The airport primarily handles domestic and cargo flights, connecting the western Iranian city to various parts of the country, with past international service to Kuwait.

Notable features and history include its distinction as the highest airport in Iran, situated at an elevation of 6,723 ft (2,049 m) above sea level. The airport began operations in 1999, with its first domestic flight to Tehran in July of that year. An asphalt runway, designated 14/32, measures 3,298 meters (10,819 ft) long and 45 meters wide. It is equipped with navigation tools such as NDB and DVOR/DME.

Currently, Shahrekord Airport is operational and has undergone modernization to accommodate passenger and cargo traffic. Airlines such as Iran Air, Iran Aseman Airlines, Mahan Air, Pars Air, and Yazd Airways operate from the airport, offering flights to destinations including Tehran-Mehrabad, Asaluyeh, and Mashhad. The airport provides amenities for travelers, including a snack bar, restaurant, bank branches, ATMs, and a free open-air parking lot.
