Grosseto Corrado Baccarini Air Base / Grosseto Airport (LIRS (GRS)) is a joint civil-military facility located 3 km west of Grosseto, Italy. It serves as a primary base for the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) and also accommodates civilian charter and private flights.

Type of Facility and Operations: The airport is primarily an Italian Air Force base, home to the 4th Stormo (Wing), which operates Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets. Civilian operations include charter flights and private aircraft, particularly during the summer. It does not offer regular scheduled commercial flights but is equipped for international traffic. All flights require 24 hours Prior Permission Required (PPR), and customs/fuel services need 24 hours Prior Notification Required (PNR). Night operations are not permitted for civil aircraft.

Notable Features or History: Named after pilot Corrado Baccarini, the airport's history dates back to World War I. During World War II, it was known as "Grosetta Main" and was utilized by the United States Army Air Forces' Twelfth Air Force, with units flying P-47 Thunderbolts, A-20, and A-26 Attack aircraft. The facility has two asphalt paved runways: 03L/21R, measuring 2,994 meters (9,823 ft), and 03R/21L, measuring 2,356 meters (7,729 ft). A new terminal building was inaugurated in 2000. Notably, the airport has hosted events such as a speed challenge between an Eurofighter and Michael Schumacher's Ferrari.

Current Status: Grosseto Corrado Baccarini Air Base / Grosseto Airport remains an active joint civil-military facility, operated by Aeronautica Militare and Societร  di Esercizio dell'Aeroporto della Maremma S.p.A. (SEAM). As of 2024, the airport reported 2,271 passengers and 1,279 aircraft movements. Current traffic conditions are generally quiet.
