The Chester County G. O. Carlson Airport (KMQS) is a publicly owned, operational airport located two miles west of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, on 352 acres of land. It is not a private strip, ranch airport, or agricultural strip.
The airport features a 5,400 x 100 foot asphalt/grooved runway (11/29) with high-intensity edge lighting. It is equipped to handle corporate business aircraft and is the third busiest airport in Pennsylvania for corporate traffic. Services available include fuel (100LL and Jet-A), major airframe and engine repair, and aircraft rental and instruction.
Originally opened in 1928 as Coatesville Airport, it was purchased by Chester County in 1959 and renamed in 1962 in honor of G. O. Carlson, the first Authority chairman. The airport is a Class II reliever for Philadelphia International Airport.
