Hutchinson Municipal Airport (IATA: HUT, ICAO: KHUT) serves Hutchinson, US.
Hutchinson Municipal Airport (KHUT/HUT) is a city-owned public airport located three miles east of Hutchinson, Kansas, United States. It is open to the public and has been operational since April 1940.
The airport covers 1,597 acres and has three asphalt runways: 13/31 (7,004 x 100 feet), 4/22 (6,000 x 100 feet), and 17/35 (4,252 x 75 feet). It has a control tower that operates from 0600-2200. Services available include major airframe and engine repair, fuel (100LL and Jet-A), and hangars and tiedowns for transient storage.
Historically, Hutchinson Municipal Airport had commercial airline service from approximately 1944 through 1990, with direct flights to Denver, Kansas City, and Wichita. Airlines that served the airport included Continental Airlines, Central Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Air Midwest. Efforts to attract airlines in recent years have been unsuccessful, primarily due to its proximity to Wichita's busiest airport.
As of 2010, the airport had 40,850 aircraft operations annually, with 88% general aviation, 7% military, and 5% air taxi. At that time, 33 aircraft were based there.
