Fort Worth Meacham International Airport (IATA: FTW, ICAO: KFTW) serves Fort Worth, US.

Fort Worth Meacham International Airport (KFTW/FTW) is a general aviation airport located five miles north of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. It is the city's oldest operating airport, dating back to 1925. Originally named Fort Worth Municipal Airport, it was renamed Meacham Field in 1927 in honor of former Fort Worth mayor Henry C. Meacham, who contributed to its early development [fortworthtexas.gov/departments/aviation/history].

The airport is situated on 900 acres and serves as a corporate and general aviation facility. It features two full-service Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), aircraft maintenance facilities, and flight schools. Meacham is the only general aviation airport in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with a parallel runway dedicated to pattern work and flight training. The airport has two parallel runways, 16/34 and 17/35 [faa.gov/flight_deck/ftw]. Its airspace is Class D and underlies Dallas-Fort Worth Class B airspace [faa.gov/flight_deck/ftw]. The control tower operates 24 hours a day [faa.gov/flight_deck/ftw]. U.S. Customs and Border Protection services are available for international flights.

Historically, Meacham Field saw significant growth in 1932 when American Airways (now American Airlines) relocated part of its operations there [fortworthtexas.gov/departments/aviation/history]. During World War II, it was part of the U.S. Navy's network for moving aircraft [fortworthtexas.gov/departments/aviation/history]. The airport was renamed Fort Worth Meacham Airport in 1985 and then Fort Worth Meacham International Airport in 1995 [fortworthtexas.gov/departments/aviation/history].

Current operations include support for helicopter activities, with two helipad landing surfaces and permission for auto-rotation practice landings on Taxiway-B. The airport has 72 hangars of various sizes and offers onsite rental car facilities.
