Frederick Municipal Airport (KFDK (FDK)) is a publicly owned general aviation airport located in Frederick, Maryland, United States. It does not have scheduled commercial service, primarily serving general, corporate, and private aviation.
The airport features two paved asphalt concrete runways:
- Runway 5-23: 5,819 feet long and 100 feet wide.
- Runway 12-30: 3,600 feet long and 75 feet wide.
KFDK's known uses include general aviation operations, flight training through several schools, and serving as the headquarters for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The Maryland State Police also bases a helicopter section at the airport.
Historically, construction of the airport began in 1946, and it officially opened the same year, replacing Detrick Field. An air traffic control tower was commissioned in 2012. The original terminal building now houses the Airways Inn restaurant.
