Kismayo Airport (IATA: KMU, ICAO: HCMK), also known as Kisimayu Airport, is an international airport serving Kismayo, the capital of the Lower Juba region in Somalia. It is located 5.4 nautical miles west of the city.

Type of facility and operations: Kismayo Airport is a public airport that handles both IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) and VFR (Visual Flight Rules) traffic. Air traffic services are provided by Kismayo TWR (Tower) on 118.6 MHz, operating from 0330-1400 UTC. Customs, immigration, health, sanitation, ATS reporting, fuelling, and handling services are available from 0330-1500 UTC, with security operating 24/7. The airport has a single asphalt runway, designated 04/22, which is 3,700 meters (12,139 feet) long and 43 meters wide. The airport elevation is 16 meters (52.5 feet) above mean sea level.

Notable features or history: Construction of the airport began in 1973, intended to replace an older natural-surface airfield from the 1930s. In August 2013, the airport's management was transferred to the Juba Interim Administration, with plans for it to eventually transfer to the Federal Government of Somalia. Revenues generated from the airport are allocated to Jubaland's service delivery, security, and institutional development. The airport also hosts Camp Kismayo, a military base for Somali Armed Forces and African Union forces, and a large UN compound. It has received resupply flights for the Danab Brigade and United States special operations forces.
