🇨🇳 Bengbu Tenghu Airport

Bengbu Tenghu Airport (ZSBB (BFU)) is a new public civil airport located in Huaiyuan County, Bengbu City, Anhui Province, China. It is classified as a Class 4C domestic branch airport.

Type of Facility and Operations: The airport is designed for both passenger and cargo operations. It features a 2,600-meter by 45-meter runway, a 26,000 square meter passenger terminal equipped with six boarding bridges, and 11 aircraft parking stands. Bengbu Tenghu Airport is planned to handle 1.8 million passengers and 10,000 tons of cargo annually, with future targets of 6 million passengers and 50,000 tons of cargo per year. Initially, it is expected to launch routes to 11 domestic cities.

Notable Features or History: The site selection process for the airport began in 2013, with the Feihe Tenghu site being recommended in 2015. Construction officially commenced on October 20, 2022, and work on the passenger terminal began on May 18, 2023. In August 2024, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) approved "Bengbu Tenghu Airport" as its official name. Calibration flights were completed on October 1, 2025, and test flights officially began on October 2, 2025, concluding on December 19, 2025, with the landing of a China Eastern Airlines A320neo.

Current Status: Construction of Bengbu Tenghu Airport was completed in May 2025. The airport is scheduled to officially commence operations on April 29, 2026. The inaugural commercial flight is anticipated to be operated by Donghai Airlines, flying from Shenzhen to Bengbu on the opening day. New routes, such as Shenzhen to Dalian via Bengbu, are expected to begin from May 1, 2026.
