Hanzhong Chenggu Airport (IATA: HZG, ICAO: ZLHZ) is the primary airport serving the city of Hanzhong in China’s Shaanxi province. It functions as a key regional transportation hub, facilitating tourism and business travel to southern Shaanxi. The airport is a modern, dual-use civil and military facility that replaced the city's older airport. Opened for commercial flights on August 13, 2014, its inauguration marked a significant upgrade in the region's aviation infrastructure, succeeding the now-closed Hanzhong Xiguan Airport.

Located in Chenggu County, the airport lies approximately 28 kilometers northeast of Hanzhong's main urban center. Travelers can typically reach the city in 30 to 40 minutes by car. The most common ground transportation options are taxis and a dedicated airport shuttle bus service, which provides a direct and economical link to key points within Hanzhong. It is advisable for passengers to verify the shuttle bus schedule in advance, as its frequency can vary.

As a regional airport, Hanzhong Chenggu exclusively serves domestic routes, connecting the city to major hubs across China. Airlines such as China Eastern, China Southern, and Hainan Airlines operate regular flights to destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Xi'an. The airport handles a modest volume of passenger traffic consistent with its role, offering essential connectivity without the scale of a major international gateway.

The airport features a single, modern terminal building designed for efficiency. Inside, facilities are functional and sufficient for the volume of travelers. Passengers will find check-in counters, security screening, and a comfortable departure lounge with ample seating. Amenities include a few basic food and beverage outlets, such as a cafe and small eateries, along with retail shops offering local products, snacks, and travel essentials. Due to the airport's compact size, navigating from check-in to the gate is a straightforward process. For a smooth experience, arriving 90 minutes before a scheduled departure is generally sufficient. As it is not designed as a transfer hub, most travelers either begin or end their journey at Hanzhong.
