Taxis

Official taxis are readily available at the designated taxi stand located outside the arrivals hall. All taxis are metered, and fares depend on the distance to your destination and traffic conditions. Key destinations include the city centers of Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang. A small surcharge may apply for late-night travel. Always use official taxis and ensure the driver uses the meter.

Rental Cars

Car rental services from major Chinese companies like China Auto Rental (神州租车) are available, with service counters typically located in the arrivals hall. It is recommended to book a vehicle in advance online. Please note: Foreign visitors usually need a valid Chinese driver's license to rent a car in China. An International Driving Permit (IDP) alone is often not sufficient.

Public Transportation

The airport offers excellent public transit links to the surrounding region.

- Airport Shuttle Buses: Multiple dedicated shuttle bus lines connect the airport directly to the downtown areas of Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang. These buses are a cost-effective and convenient option, with tickets available for purchase at a counter inside the terminal.

- High-Speed Rail Connection: The airport is connected to the Chaoshan High-Speed Railway Station (潮汕站) via a dedicated express bus (approx. 30-40 minute journey). This station is a major stop on the Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed line, offering fast and efficient train travel to major cities like Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Xiamen.
