Datong Yungang Airport (IATA: DAT, ICAO: ZBDT) is the primary airport serving the city of Datong in northern Shanxi province, China. It functions as a crucial gateway for tourists visiting the region's renowned historical sites, most notably the UNESCO World Heritage Yungang Grottoes, after which the airport is named. As a regional airport, it plays a vital role in connecting this historically significant city with the rest of the country, supporting both tourism and local economic activity. The airport officially opened on January 1, 2006, replacing the older and smaller Datong Beijiazao Airport. In 2012, its name was formally changed from Datong Airport to Datong Yungang Airport to better promote its connection to the famous Buddhist cave complex.

Located in Beijiazao Town, the airport is situated approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) east of Datong's city center. The journey between the airport and downtown typically takes 30 to 40 minutes by car, depending on traffic conditions. Travelers can access the airport primarily by road. The most common transportation options include official airport shuttle buses, which offer a cost-effective service with routes to key locations in the city, and taxis, which are readily available outside the terminal. Ride-hailing services are also a popular and convenient choice for reaching the facility.
