A dedicated taxi rank is located directly outside the terminal building. Port Macquarie Taxis (131 008) is the main service provider. Pre-booking is recommended, particularly for early morning or late evening flights.
Several major car rental companies have service desks inside the arrivals area of the terminal, including Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar, and Thrifty. Vehicles are located in a dedicated car park nearby. It is highly advisable to book your vehicle in advance.
There are no direct public bus routes that service Port Macquarie Airport. To access the local Busways network, travelers will need to take a taxi or use another form of transport to get from the airport into the town of Port Macquarie.

We landed here in 2002, during the bush fire season. There were brush fires burning West of the airstrip, and we flew long curving finals to avoid the smoke. We were grounded there for two days, IMC in smoke. Australia is a very interesting country! We used the time to go on a boat tour of the estuary, visit a Koala sanctuary and visit several pubs.
