Airport taxis and private car services are available to meet arriving flights. You can find them at a service counter in the arrivals hall or directly outside the terminal. It is advisable to agree on the fare with the driver before your trip, as meters are not always used.
Several car rental companies operate at Loei Airport, including major brands like Avis and Budget, as well as local providers. Their service counters are located within the terminal building. Booking in advance, especially during peak season, is highly recommended.
There is no direct public bus service from the airport terminal. The main form of shared local transport is the 'songthaew' (a modified pickup truck with two benches). These can take passengers to Loei city center or the main bus terminal for onward connections.
I hate flying because I do far too much of it as a result of my work but Loei Airport is a great little airport even if it only has one flight per day. It beats driving to Bangkok (Don Muang Airport) and certainly better than going by bus. However, to appreciate what Leoi has to offer land transportation is of course better.
