🇮🇳 Ziro Airport

Ziro Airport (IATA: ZER, ICAO: VEZO) is a domestic airport and an Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) of the Indian Air Force, serving Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is operated by the Airports Authority of India and is classified as a Military/Public airport.

Notable Features & History:

• Originally built as an Advanced Landing Ground for the Indian Air Force for military operations, exercises, and emergency use.
• A pre-feasibility study in 2008 by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to improve the airport for ATR-42 class aircraft found it unfeasible to extend the existing 1,220-meter runway due to unauthorized constructions. A new 2010-meter runway and relocation of airport structures were proposed.
