IMPORTANT: Kursk East Airport (URS) has been closed to all civilian air traffic since February 2022 due to the ongoing conflict. There are no passenger flights, and therefore no regular taxi services are available at the terminal. When the airport was operational, taxis and ride-sharing apps like Yandex.Go were the most common way to travel the approximately 8 km to the city center.
Due to the indefinite closure of the airport to civilian flights, there are no car rental agencies operating at the Kursk East Airport terminal. To rent a car, you would need to contact rental agencies located within the city of Kursk directly, but services may be limited.
As the airport is not operational for passenger flights, public transport routes that previously served the airport are likely suspended or significantly altered. When it was open, the airport was connected to the city by several marshrutka (minibus) and bus routes. These services are not currently a reliable option for reaching the airport terminal.
